Ask these questions of your characters to get more in depth ideas of who they are, what they want, and where their futures are headed. The "Why's" are quite possibly the most important part of the questions they're included in. To better understand your character, you must answer these questions. There is also a reason why the questions are in a random order, and why some are kind of repeated. Try to do this without looking at some sort of reference. Just from your imagination. And write it down or type it, don't just do it
